This report was prepared within the framework of the Project "In defense of the rights of
the person", No. ACF/707 with the financial support of the Active Citizens Fund - Bulgaria under
The Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021
year. Its main purpose is to acquaint the reader with the essence of sexuality
violence, its types and forms of manifestations.
The report is a summary analysis from a study of the legal framework at an international, European and national level, related to its implementation in relation to the protection of children and persons who have experienced sexual violence.

It covers the activities implemented as a working mechanism at the international, European and national level, with the aim of preventing and protecting the rights of children and survivors of sexual violence.
A comparative analysis of the practice at the national level was also carried out, covering the time period 2018 - 2021, making a parallel comparison between the years - 2018/2019 and 2020/30.06.2021, related to the legal framework and whether it is applicable and effective it for survivors of sexual abuse.
The main focus of the activity is aimed at gathering information to be used in conducting a campaign to raise awareness of human rights in the field of protection from sexual violence.
In support of this study, the District and District Courts responded and assisted with a database; District and Regional Prosecutor's Offices; OD of the Ministry of the Interior; RDSP and DSP located on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Victim support program:

The specialized program for the support of victims of domestic violence and gender-based violence, with a focus on women and girls of Roma origin, and Preventive work with youth are the main objectives of the current project. It is building on the previous initiatives of the organizations in the team because of its focus on working with young people, the innovative element of the mentioned new activities.

For the project

"The project "In defense of human rights!" No. ACF/707 is implemented with financial support in the amount of EUR 154 thousand provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Financial Mechanism. The main goal of the project "In defense of human rights!" is improving the implementation of international standards for the protection of human rights, conducting campaigns to raise awareness of human rights, incl. by involving young people, as well as providing legal aid and counseling for victims of discrimination and human rights violations.
